believe me, you will get CEL's for sure if the 02 sensor or the Cat is fried. OBDII is very sensitive to these things.

How about my 02 sensor(s)? I've been running rich ever since I got the jrsc kit, and especially rich for the past 3 weeks or so (limp mode). I changed my spark plugs tonight and they were real black and smelled like gas. Even with the new plugs, my car still idles real rough, stalling on occasion. The J&S a/f meter bounces violently from ultra-rich to ultra-lean, but mostly rich, and does not oscillate smoothly like it should. WOT feels pretty good, but fuel delivery in closed-loop feels choppy. I think my underlying fuel problems are pretty much solved, but I'm worried I killed my cat and/or O2 sensor(s) by running so rich for so long. I don't have any CEL's nowadays. Anyone know the symptoms of a dead cat and O2 sensor?

Well, my wait is over. My car finally threw the code yesterday for a bad catalytic converter. I could see this coming, since I've been running very rich for the better part of a year. Can anybody recommend a good replacement cat? A little more flow would be nice, but I'm not expecting any power gains from it. I'd rather not pay big $$ for a replacement.

Lookup a muffler shop near you that install them. Most every shop in my town was listed as an installer.

They're only sold through installs, so the muffler shop does whatever needs to be done.

I think I've heard of people getting installed for under $200, including parts.

I don't have one... yet.

Greg, what do you mean by it's a "car sound" cat? The magnaflow looks like a nice cat. I have a contact at random tech. that could also get me a discount. Which is the better cat? Thanks

From recent postings, I gather that MagnaFlow sometimes sells under the name "Car Sound" and that the Car Sound cat flowed best when compared to anything but a straight pipe.

Many people complain of Random Tech's quality.
